Amandine La Verne, was the reason Catherine's mother Jacquette Legoix
left her brother and went to live with Ermengarde de Châteauvillain - where she died after she had caught a terrible cold, without seeing her daugher Catherine again. Together with her husband Colin she was after his fortune.
She was also arrested because of this deed, but able to escape. She watched the execution of her husband and swore to take terrible revenge on Catherine. Lured Catherine into a trap and wanted to bury her alive with the dead body of Colin, but not before Catherine had been raped by all of Robert de Sarrebrücks soldier. Catherine came only out alive of this hell, because of an old friend, beggar Jehan des Ecus.(she knew him from the time she lived in Dijon as a young girl) had gone for help to Messire de Roussay. in the TV-Series Catherine Il suffit d'un amour, Catherine's uncle Mathieu Gautherin married Amandine La Verne. Who had unfortunately become a " hen-pecked man, now married to the clever hussy Amandine.There is no brother/husband Philibert La Verne/Colin Le Long mentioned.
