The Infanta Isabel of Portugal was Philippe of Burgundy's third wife. She was the daughter of a King and spent her youth in the Portugese Court. When she married Philippe, she was already 31 years old. She was a very intelligent woman and the Duke trusted her entirely. His infidelities would give Isabel a certain amount of grief during their marriage. She was the mother of the future Duke of Burgundy, Charles lthe Bold (Charles le Téméraire).
