• Fatima, Bath Attendant of the Hamman, read more on Who is Who..
It was said that Fatima was the ugliest of woman in the eyes of Abou-al-Khayr - but she was more skilful than anyone, to change a work-worn mule into a sprightly mare with a gleaming coat! She set to work and called Catherine "Light of Dawn". She told Catherine she would not leave, until she was fit for her masters bed! But Fatima was sly, in her mind, the white blonde slave, was too beautiful to spent the rest of her days with the old Abou - and she took contact with Moryama, the Harems Mistress! A week later she took Catherine to the Al Hamra to meet Morayma, to which Catherine had agreed - her only chance to get near Arnaud, to snatch her from the hands of the beautiful, but cruel Princess Zobeïda. Even though Fatima "tricked" Abou, (she received a pile of gold dinars for selling "Light of Dawn" to the Harem) ...she delivered "a golden basket" sent by Abou  - where Catherine found the "Montsalvy dagger, a glass phial and a letter"!

He was pardoned, do to the fact that his wife Catherine had been there when Trémoille was "removed" from court. Years later he refused to pardon Arnaud - (who had killed his brother's murderer)..saying it was up to Arthur de Richemont to do that... and was also influenced by his young mistress Agnés Sorel, to deny Catherine her wish...
